its a good mod and definatly a step in the right direction.

The 802cc mod (TRX top end) is actually what the rally winning YZE750's engine was ... ;) shhhhh!

How do you work out the cc ,i worked it out to approx 793cc
TRX bore 89.5mm XTZ stroke 63mm

8.95 x 8.95 x 3.142 / 4 =62.92

62.92 x 6.3 x 2 = 792.79

Am i doing something wrong ?

chances are they were 0.5mm overbored i would guess.

Timbo would probably know better but i think the JE smaller forged pistons are +0.5mm?

great little cc calculator i use, http://www.wiseco.com/Calculators/Helpf ... lators.xls

Hi there

Sorry about this don't mean to hijack this thread I'm doing the same conversion and was wandering if the trx uses the same water pipe coupler to attach from the cylinders to the water pump?

Cheers

all engines share the water pump to rad pipe, the tdm and trx share a short steel and short rubber pipe with thermo on top of the rocker cover but xtz has long steel (over rocker cover)and 2 long rubber hoses to a raised thermo up by the dash. The tdm/trx set up will fit the xtz (but you need to change the short steel pipe from the head too, and your xtz rad has to have the later type rad cap on it.. or use the tdm rad) but trying to top up water using the cap on the rad from under the fairing must be a bit of a chaw.

wouldn't the 900 barrels be a better choice, more CC and solves the oil consumption problem at the same time.
they are not that expensive.

hi there

thank you for the info. Do you know which cap to use would it be one off an xtz? Or from another model? Just out o interest do you know what the psi/ bar should be on this cap?

Sorry to be a pain got a few bits to order from yam so will get one of those at the same time?

Should hopefully have mine done this week end :-)

cheers

95 -125 kPa on the 750
75 -105 kPa on the 850.

100 kPa is 14psi.

OK, I will continue this thread with some questions.
At the moment I stripped my 3VD engine and descided rebore because its close to first service limit, it had ovality and the oval size of bore is 89.62
At the moment head is on work
and I have ordered +0.5 TRX piston to tune a litle bit (Rise comperssion ratio)

Question is how XTZ TCI will match with higher compression ratio of 3VD engine?
